Training and treatment for Birth Trauma – why BTR therapy is the right course for you

‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has’ – Margaret Mead

Why should you train with Jenny and be part of the BTR Therapy family?

Jenny is an international teacher, trainer, and speaker who is a qualified Human Givens Psychotherapist and birth trauma specialist of over 17 years. You can read more about Jenny here.

Jenny is supported in her training by two past students, who act as student support and assistant teachers.

BTR Therapy was developed in response to the growing need for an effective, fast and safe treatment for birth trauma and PTSD. According to the Birth Trauma Association 10,000 women a year are diagnosed with birth trauma and PTSD – I believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The screening system in the UK focuses primarily on PND, so birth trauma is not being recognised/diagnosed by birth professionals, and women and their partners are therefore not being offered appropriate treatment.

BTR therapy is a unique programme of learning designed to offer birth professionals, including midwives, obstetricians, GP’s, health visitors, doulas, and hypnobirthing practitioners the necessary screening systems and effective tools and techniques to treat birth trauma and the associated symptoms quickly, safely, and effectively.

Jenny is passionate about training highly qualified birth professionals to the highest standard to be able to offer patient led care.

Practitioners are taught to deactivate the trauma template using the Human Givens Rewind Technique that has been adapted to fit the needs of birth trauma patients. This helps the patient to turn a trauma memory into a normal memory, helping them to resume normal day to day functioning and engagement with their life.

BTR therapy has been carefully designed to offer practitioners other highly effective tools and techniques to support the body’s own natural healing process. Techniques are taught and employed to help clients deal with other associated feelings such as shame, guilt, blame, anger, loss of confidence, breakdown in relationships and attachment, to offer a well rounded and complete treatment plan.

BTR therapy practitioners are also given tools and skills to treat staff suffering from vicarious trauma and workplace trauma.

BTR therapy places a huge amount of value on the treatment of staff who are placed in situations where they may also suffer from birth related trauma.
